166 Perry Street in New York

This luxury condominium was designed by Asymptote Architecture.  Located in Manhattan’s West Village, 166 Perry Street is an eigth-story residential condominium building bounded by the historic cobblestone blocks of Perry Street and Charles Lane in the West Village.

Each is a luminous corner home, housed behind a discreetly sculptural, high-performance fractal glass surface that appears to materialize and dematerialize with the changing light of day.

Selective placed interior layers od translucent honeycomb material allow parts of the building facade to alternately reveal and protect, offering extraordinary open views from inside while concealing private life to the outside area.

In the words of the architects

The design of 166 Perry Street was conceived to create a very direct and intimate bond with nature, air, light and space, the most desirable amenities one can offer in New York.

Asymptote’s design joins a collection of high-end condominium buildings include Richard Meier’s glass and steel towers along the West Side Highway.
