Ancient Cob at Museum of Welsh Life

Cob is a building material composed of clay, sand and straw. It is a versatile and stable material, so the options for a home’s design are numerous.

Below are some pictures of ancient thatched cob at Museum of Welsh Life, Cardiff, Wales taken by Owen Morgan. The traditional cob structure with a thatched roof, inside it was nice and cool. Approximately 1000 years old and still inhabited.
